I sampled Melody’s Orange Shrimp, and it’s every bit as good as it looks. The shrimp are tempura-fried to a golden crisp and served with steamed white rice, fresh vegetables, and a bright orange sauce. The chef pointed out that the sauce is made with real orange juice, not concentrate, giving it a fresh, natural citrus flavor instead of the heavy sweetness you get from bottled glazes.

Each bite has that perfect balance of crisp shrimp, light batter, and a tangy-sweet sauce that doesn’t overpower the dish. It’s finished with green onion, sesame seeds, and a little garnish that makes the plate pop.

At $16.75, it’s a small step up from the orange chicken ($15.75), but the freshness and crunch make it worth it. It’s one of those dishes that looks simple but delivers way more flavor than you expect.
